Dog Bite Symptoms

DOG BITE SYMPTOMS THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW.
Having survived a dog attack in my childhood, I thought I might share with you my story in hopes that it may save someone else the pain and scarring I experienced as a child. When I was around 8 years old, my family went camping in the mountains of Arizona, on what was thought would be a normal outing. One day while walking with my fishing pole in hand, I crossed over a neighboring campsite and noticed some puppies. Being a bit adventurous, I walked over to the puppies and bent down to pet them.
Immediately, the mother dog jumped up and swatted my face with her paw, cutting my face wide open and requiring an emergency trip to a mountainside clinic. Of course the first concern was scarring and making sure the stitches were done in a manner that would reduce major scarring. But also of concern was infection since the animal’s paws were dirty and the wounds were extensive. After what seemed an eternity in the operating room, I was released and we returned to the campsite. My face was a badged mess and I must have looked like Frankenstein, but the wounds heeled with a little help from some antibiotics and careful cleaning techniques.
Recently a friend of mine was attacked by 2 Pitt Bulls requiring a trip to the hospital and several stitches. Had the dog’s owners not come out of the house when they did I’m certain she would have been killed by the animals.
If you are a dog owner you can never be too careful. Many people are killed ever year by dog attacks and the severity of these types of incidents seem to be escalating. If you are unlucky enough to be the victim of a dog bite, make sure you get immediate medical attention. Possible delay could result in rabies, infection, scarring, and even death.

Dog bites must be treated immediately. It’s always good to receive council from an attorney at law. Injuries that may seem healed can flare up in the future… and infection and recurring pain can linger for years.
